RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Certificate
Course Information
This comprehensive Day Skipper Shorebased Course is designed specifically for those who wish to undertake the Yachting Day Skipper practical course, attain the ICC Certificate , and progress to the Coastal/Offshore/Ocean courses.
It is designed to be appropriate for skippers and crew who want to feel competent to make the decisions necessary to skipper and navigate a cruising sailing yacht or motor boat safely and enjoyably at sea in coastal waters, by day and by night.
Course Details
The course is taught over 40 hours with exams at the finish.
This is a classroom-based course. Topics covered include Chart Work, Navigation, Collision Regulations, Pilotage Plans, Tides, GPS, Buoyage, Safety at Sea, Meteorology etc.
Successful completion of this course will allow you to continue on to sit the Day Skipper Practical, and obtain an ICC (International Certificate of Competency) which is the international standard for charter abroad.
Course duration: 40-45 hours including exams.
Cost: €555 which includes all course materials, charts, test papers and navigational instruments.
